BRTUK

Bangladesh Regeneration Trust UK is the primary project of GDF in Bangladesh and is working to alleviate the suffering caused by poverty and natural disasters.

BRTUK was a project set up in 2010 by a small team of dedicated professionals with a passion for helping people in Bangladesh who are suffering from the effects of poverty and disasters, both natural and man-made.

Over the years, BRTUK has helped thousands of people with healthcare, education, livelihoods and emergency relief, as well as seasonal projects such as food packs for destitute families during the month of Ramadan, or distribution of Qurbani meat during Eid Al Adha.

When the Rohingya people were persecuted in Myanmar and sought refuge in Bangladesh, BRTUK worked with local partners Cox’s Bazar to provide medical assistance within the refugee camps.

BRTUK has also been working to help the British Bangladeshi community and has organised annual Heritage Tours to Bangladesh to strengthen cultural links and give participants an opportunity to witness first-hand the assistance being provided to the poor and needy.

BRTUK has also been working within the Bangladeshi community in the UK, with initiatives such as health projects to promote healthier lifestyles through physical activity.
